Karen and I have been members of Wickwoods Country Club for over 18 years. We have made excellent use of the tennis facilities including more recently the indoor bubble courts throughout this period. There are no other facilities like this in Sussex which incorporates such a friendly and welcoming environment. It is not just about having the excellent facilities but also about feeling you belong to a well run and professional club.

I was so pleased when Wickwoods Country Club re-opened.  It was great to see the old staff and meet the new who were so helpful.

I think for myself the best thing about the club is the Gym and the head of the Fitness team Chris who has taken the time to find the correct fitness program for me and helped me with my nutrition program and general fitness.

I am pleased to say that I have lost almost a stone in weight and 3 inches from my waist can’t be bad!  I am even riding a bike again after many years!  So for fitness, wickwoods has it all!

I have been training with Chris for just over a year, and in that time I have noticed a significant change in my overall fitness levels, my weight and my body shape. I have always found Chris to be motivating and challenging, whilst at the same time being supportive and realistic. His encouragement and guidance have improved my form, stretched me to my personal limits and really encouraged me to do more - beyond our weekly sessions, to really improve my fitness levels. No two sessions are ever the same and I am often left with new exercise plans to use independently of our 121 sessions.

My membership at Wickwoods has been a really important part of my overall plan to improve my fitness and body shape. The club is by far the friendliest place I've ever exercised at, with both the staff team and fellow members all being chatty and sociable. The facilities are great, and most importantly, are continually being developed and improved in response to the growth of the membership base and the evolving demands of the members. There's a good range of classes which are all included in the fee, the gym is well equipped, the spa facilities pleasant and well maintained, and there's a good social scene too. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone that wants to keep in shape in a more friendly environment than the typical faceless big name gyms.

I have been a member of Wickwoods Country Club for seven years and have always enjoyed my time playing tennis with the occasional swim and gym session.  However, during their brief closure earlier this year, I was forced to try other clubs in the area, which soon led me to realise that Wickwoods has an atmosphere that is unrivalled.  The difference between playing tennis, swimming or taking part in a range of fitness activities at a Country Club, as opposed to a 'Tennis Club' or Sports Club' is a lifestyle choice that must be experienced.  The atmosphere, regardless of which activity you take part in, is exciting but relaxed.  The covered tennis courts in winter are a real bonus and rare in Mid Sussex.  And this combined with a new enlarged swimming pool and gym area (coming soon) will make Wickwoods an attractive place for all. The comfortable seating areas with sofas as opposed to 'club chairs' plus the large terrace in the summer months overlooking the extensive gardens, all add to the relaxed atmosphere. There is no canteen queue or self-service coffee machine, but, instead, charming staff look after you. Finally (a mega bonus for me, as well as a highly important facility in 2011 and beyond for any club) Wickwoods has unlimited wi-fi internet access from both inside the Club and out on the terrace, and I now see many members bringing in their computers for work.  The style of club Wickwoods has become is truly a remarkable example of an exciting fitness and social lifestyle.
