Richard B | Gym Manager

“Hi my name is Richard and I am the Gym manager of Wickwoods Country Club. I have been in the fitness industry for nearly 15 years and have progressed from instructor to personal trainer to manager.

Throughout the years I have taught a variety of classes including circuits, boxercise & HIIT, but my passion has always been 1:1 training with the ability to properly focus on technique to get the best out of the client and help them reach their goals.

Sport and fitness have always been an important part of my life with my family involved in a variety of different sports - helping me to become the trainer I am today. My Brother is a professional golfer, my sister a swimming teacher and racer, and my dad represented his county at rugby. On my days off I love playing golf and taking my two whippets out for walks when they are not sleeping! If you have any questions regarding training (or just want to talk about dogs!) then come find me around the gym. Hope to see you all soon."

Other Team Members

Lucy B | Health & Fitness Operations Manager

I have been fortunate to have worked at Wickwoods now for 6 years and started out as a member of the gym team delivering our Fitness Reward appointments and as a Personal Trainer. However, my true passion in the Health & Fitness industry is a group exercise. Over the past 5 years I have developed our studio and class schedule, I am incredibly proud of the vibrant and extensive group exercise program we currently offer.

During the pandemic, I developed and headed up our online on-demand site to help keep our group exercise program flourishing, and more importantly to keep our wonderful class community together. The opportunity and challenge of our on-demand site continue to excite me, and I have some fantastic collaborations and content planned to help enhance our membership. My current role also allows me to work closely with both Caroline and Rich on the development of our Health & Fitness services.

Caroline M | Studio & Exercise Class Coordinator

"I may be a familiar face around the club having been here (on and off) since 2013, but I am fairly new to the gym team, joining in June after completing my Level 2 in Fitness Instruction. I believe that fitness should be fun and accessible for everyone. With having 2 young children I know that finding the time and energy to exercise is sometimes difficult, so it’s important we make it a priority and even get the family involved so that together we can be healthier and happier.

I love being outdoors and when I’m not on the playground with my kids I’ll usually be on the beach - whatever the weather! I enjoy seeing how far I can push myself in sporting events such as marathons, triathlons and long-distance cycling events, I’m always amazed at what the body is capable of! I also assist in the Studio Coordination, so if you have any questions or feedback about classes please let me know."
