New Member – Celebrity chef joins Wickwoods to shrink her waistline



West Sussex resident and Italian food expert Valentina Harris is now a member at Wickwoods Country Club, Hotel & Spa!

Valentina Harris is known for her love of good food. She’s made TV appearances for the BBC on Ready Steady Cook and MasterChef, as well as stints on ITV’s This Morning and more. She has also written for the The Times, Sunday Times Magazine, Woman & Home, BBC Good Food, to name a few. Her first cookery book, Perfect Pasta, has been translated into six languages since it was first published in 1984 and won The Award for Literature and Gastronomy in Germany. Since then she has written more than 30 award-winning cookery books.

That said, it’s easy to see why Valentina is always in demand to appear at top food events. She has given innumerable live cookery demonstrations and lectures internationally. But she’s still found time in her busy schedule to improve her health and fitness, and is writing about her weight loss journey alongside TV chef Aldo Zilli in Healthy Food Guide magazine. The magazine runs an annual Get Waisted Weight-loss Challenge, which puts the emphasis on eating a healthy diet to reduce dangerous belly fat around the waist, rather than focusing on the weighing scales.

Health experts believe the weight that sits around our middle puts us more at risk of lifestyle illnesses such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and cancer. As well as eating well, regular exercise is essential for our good health and, done regularly, can help with weight loss. It’s recommended we do a minimum of 150 minutes of exercise a week. The team at Wickwoods are looking forward to helping Valentina achieve her fitness goals.
