Making the most of your membership
During these times, we operate control measures to ensure both your safety and ours. Throughout the club you will find precautionary measures including automatic temperature checking, MedicAir purifiers, protective screening, hand sanitising points, staff Covid-awareness training, risk assessments and operating policies, and a team dedicated to ensuring a high standard of sanitation and cleanliness throughout. Your safety and ours is our highest priority.
As a member, our team are always on hand to help encourage and motivate you. We will stay in touch, review your progress and offer support and incentives to help you lead a healthier and relaxed lifestyle.
All members benefit from a range of complimentary sessions, which can be booked at reception. We have something for everyone, from the complete beginner to advanced. Making the most of your membership at Wickwoods could not be easier.
Your Health & Fitness Journey: Through the club’s Fitness Reward Journey members receive complimentary one-to-one consultations in the gym with our friendly qualified health and fitness coaches. The team will meet with you to discuss your personal goals and develop a wellness and fitness programme suited to you. We’re here to help and support you on your journey.
Health Checks & Advice: Comprehensive health checks are part of the Fitness Rewards Journey, along with bespoke health and fitness programmes which are complimentary for all members. Exercise Classes: Exercise classes are held both indoors and outdoors, suitable for all levels and ability. All indoor fitness areas are mechanically ventilated, drawing fresh air in and expelling the stale air. Classes are a great complement to any fitness programme, as well as an opportunity to meet like-minded members. See our timetable exercise classes.
Learn, Play & Enjoy Tennis: Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, our tennis programme enables members of all abilities to make the most of our tennis facilities. Begin with a complimentary Beginners’ Induction, after which you will receive a coaching voucher giving you the chance to attend one of our many group coaching sessions throughout the week. All our courts are available to book online. Looking to develop your playing skills quickly? Sign up for a six-week Fast Track Tennis Course, designed to cover all the basics. Treatments & Therapies: At Your Spa relax in luxurious treatment rooms; our qualified therapists are offering a range of treatments and beauty maintenance. Hand-picked leading spa brands can be found on our spa brochure, available from reception. Ventilation is on max allowing you to enjoy treatments safely; some treatments may require a mask. - Helpful Tips
Begin with a sensible and achievable level of commitment and build on this slowly over a few weeks/ months. This way you should find exercising enjoyable and sustainable, ensuring that health and fitness becomes a manageable and permanent part of day-to-day life. Studies have shown that exercising with a friend is an easy way to remain motivated. Exercising with a friend keeps you focused, is fun and helps your progression in achieving goals; see ‘Refer a friend to the Club’ below.
Varying the exercise you do also helps you to keep your interest. Speak to a Wickwoods health and fitness coach who can devise a personalised programme for you. Why not try an exercise class or tennis session alongside your gym workouts? On rest days, Your Spa is the perfect place to relax and unwind; enjoy a massage to ease those muscles, followed by a dip in the indoor or outdoor pool, hydropool and thermal spa facilities.
Waiting Lists & Booking Cancellations: Our online booking systems allows members to place themselves on waiting lists. Places via the waiting list are regularly offered when members cancel their bookings, and we advise members to make use of these. Comparably, we ask members to cancel with 24 hours’ notice, this improves accessibility and allows members to accept waiting list bookings.
- Busy periods & routines
Busy Periods: As with all health and fitness venues there is an increase in use by members during peak times, and of course in the new year as we all renew our commitments to improve our health and fitness. All club’s experience high demand which settles as we establish sustainable regimes. Generally, there is plenty of capacity throughout the club, and members who come outside of the peak periods often enjoy an almost exclusive use. Wickwoods operates a strict policy of a maximum number of members, particularly during the new year; usage is closely monitored to make sure members can access the services and facilities.

The Gym: Significantly boost your results by varying your exercise and routines, this should seen as benefit as sticking to the same routines can plateau your results. Have a back-up range of exercises to switch to and do them instead, if the equipment you need is in use. Talk to a health & fitness coach about incorporating new workouts into your usual routines and exercises.
The Pool & Spa Garden: If the pools are occupied, limber up muscles by relaxing for 10 minutes in one of the hydrotherapy pools, then follow with a 10-minute steam or sauna, and your muscles will be warm and ready for a swim.
Exercise Classes: Our class timetable is continually being developed. Where there is high demand, we usually introduce additional classes. Please let us know if you have any feedback or consistent difficulty booking a class via email@example.com. During busy periods, consult with our health and fitness team. We can devise a functional gym programme to complement your exercise routines, focusing on workouts that enhance your core strength and flexibility, enabling you to perform better during classes going-forward.
Changing Rooms & Lockers: During the current time, we suggest that everyone arrives ready for their activity, this will reduce use and the need to enter our changing rooms. The changing rooms at the Tennis Lodge are also available, suitable for court or Pod studio users. Please make use of the lockers for personal belongings.
